Welcome Back to Qemassen!
We’re full into March now, and this newsletter is finding you a little late. I’d been holding off, hoping I’d be able to share some exciting news soon, but since it looks like it could be a little while yet, I’ll instead be sending out a second newsletter this month.
Keep your eyes on your inboxes!
In the meantime, The Wings of Ashtaroth is now up on Reddit and Top Web Fiction. If you’re enjoying the series, please consider giving it a weekly “boost” on Top Web Fiction to help it find more readers.
“He preferred to remember his past in his own way, and not always the way it had happened.”
In February, we met the remainder of our leading cast! In the mighty northern city of Lorar, a gladiator named Kirin fought for his life against a deadly foreign opponent, while on the stormy waves of the Helit sea a handmaiden named Vivaen was forced into a dangerous game of deception that will see her swapping places with a princess. In the Lorar-governed city of Ipsis, Indas, shadowy voices promised an orphan child named Iridescia the power to destroy her enemies.
This week, we finally return to Qemassen, where a terrifying dream draws Ashtaroth further into Lilit’s sphere of supernatural influence and finds him seeking solace from Samelqo. In Qemassen’s temple district, Ashtaroth’s sister Qwella seizes her own destiny in order to escape a second marriage, and Dashel runs afoul of one of the most powerful merchants in the lower city. Meanwhile, in Indas, Hadrianus’s government seeds paranoia and religious intolerance in the city streets, and Iridescia and Roewyn are forced to take sides.
My generous patrons have also voted on a recent poll as to what extra content they’d like to see first, and I’m happy to announce that in the weeks to come I’ll be posting a special appendix on the religions of the Southern Shore, as well as a pronunciation guide.
