The Crown of Asmodeus
The Erstwhile Tyler Kyle & The Wings of Ashtaroth nominated for the Indie Ink Awards
Welcome back to Qemassen!
The Crown of Asmodeus is finally being posted after a long delay. All three bonus chapters are also now available for free. You can read the first of these (Oran) here, Ydelka’s here, and a new POV from Lera here. The bonus chapters can be read in any order.
And, if you want to jump right into Crown, the first section is up on my website!
Just for newsletter subscribers, I’ve also included a bonus excerpt from a later Crown chapter below.
Rashid smiled across the table, sitting back in his gilded chair. “Not that I don't appreciate the intrusion, but why did your mother think to send you to me?” Rashid asked.
Priscilla’s shoulders slumped. Rashid was a courtier, and wealthy, and important. Shouldn't it be obvious?
“She wants me to seduce you,” Priscilla said plainly. She turned and glared at Falces.
Rashid snorted before bursting into laughter. Once he'd collected himself—which took longer than Priscilla personally felt was necessary—he gave her condescending wink.
“All right,” he said, clasping his hands atop the table in front of him. “I'm eager for a distraction. Seduce me.”
Priscilla crossed her arms in front of her chest. She knew it was immature, but what else was she to say?
“I didn't say I would, just that Mother told me to.”
“Oh,” said Rashid, smile fading. “Well that's disappointing. I was looking forward to being seduced. It's been rather a long time.”
Indie Ink Awards!
In other news, I was thrilled that both The Erstwhile Tyler Kyle and The Wings of Ashtaroth have been nominated for the Indie Ink Awards and you can now vote for them here alongside a ton of other awesome books. To vote, just click on the category you want, then click on the book cover of your choice. Make sure to save your vote by hitting the green button at the bottom of the page! You will be asked to make an account in order to vote, but Indie Story Geek is a great website where you can review and find new indie reads, so it’s worth the extra time.
Thank you to anyone who nominated my books and to anyone who plans to vote or has already! Here’s a recent promo video I made for the awards.
Lastly, I wanted to give a shoutout to my current read: Daniel Maidman’s exquisite epic fantasy and SPFBO9 semi-finalist, The Exile of Zanzibar. If you enjoyed The Wings of Ashtaroth, I have a feeling you’ll enjoy this lavishly illustrated fantasy set in an ancient world.
